A question to those who have traded accounts in the past

What are my chances on being scammed. I've posted here to sell my account and the scammers flooded me with fake offers. I won't sell my account now because of that but I'm now wanting to trade it. I just don't want to be scammed. So what are the chances I'll be scammed and how can I avoid being scammed? Thanks.

Always a chance to be scammed. Like many mods/admins/middlemen say : Make sure to do research. Look at their rep, previous posts, people they've bought and sold to and such. Don't be hasty and be wary of people who offer A LOT for your account.

true what the other person said. it is pretty rough out there, but make sure that you do your homework before thinking about selling the acct

I've traded on here before and there's usually some legit people. I use phone calls and texting to help verify. You can usually just get a sense from talking to the person if they're for real.

traded before but not using this website. I would just be extremely cautious and verify that all the information about the account matches up with what the person you're trading with is telling you. Also getting a phone number helps.

I found this thread to be very useful. I've traded twice, but all business was done in game, or over ventrilo. People always have threatened to report people for spamming /2 chat, so someone suggested a website.

Does using the Middleman service guarantee safety though?

The middle-man service seems like the safest way to conduct the transaction itself. I'm very generally untrusting, so my advice would be to trade characters, not the accounts themselves. If the character is of any significant value, it would be worth dropping $25 on a transfer to ensure the OO of the other account never decides to change his mind.
