Star Wars Galaxies is it worth trying?

I always wondered this, is the game fun? Is it PvP or more quests and teaming up to defeat monsters? Are the graphics nice, etc.

graphics are great if you have a good computer, i would say its more pvp, but also has pve aspects, like you have to do instances to get tokens, and tokens by you jewelry pieces to make you better in both pvp and pve. i have two pretty good toons i would trade for wow toons.

It's good, well unless they changed it since I last played, but I heard they're adding a hoth base soon and having new stuff coming for 2009

I still enjoy it. I've played since launch and have seen it go through all the ups and downs but it seems to finally have leveled off.

SOE seems to be putting a good amount of effort into. If you've never played, you can pick up all of the content for $20 and give it a go.

I played swg after launch for a few months and again about a year ago. I really love the pvp in the game because it is so straightforward and world based. It seems like there is a lot of pvp because there isnt a whole lot else to do.

How many people are still actually playing this game? Are the developers making any efforts to breathe life back into the game?
I've heard a lot about some NGE nerf or something that happened a while ago that basically killed the game. Can someone please explain to me what this was and what it did?
