Market Place Suggestion - Throw out your trash!

How about a 'trashme' tag, or a 'closeme' tag? Not sure if tags can be added after 1hr.

Yeah it'd be cool if the users themselves could close their threads or "trashcan" themselves as long as it doesn't totally delete them just incase something needs to be used as evidence or referenced. That brings me back to the point of have a trash section for trashed and closed threads even. What's up with the you can't edit after 1 hour thing anyways? It would make a lot more sense to not put a time limit right? or is it so they can't edit out information that we might need or something?

Nothing's ever really deleted anyway

Well the only trashcan we could implement would be a global one across the entire forum, which would totally mess everything up. Derfy has, I believe, already made the adjustment to allow users to close their own threads

I think the idea is a good one, but a little work intensive. If a person was in charge of reviewing all the threads to see if they have been completed it could take awhile.

Tagging your own would work, or I was thinking the person who started a thread could have an option or button that they click to say they believe the thread is closed. So if the tags were a problem (only changeable after one hour) this option would send an automatic message to the forum moderators PM, allowing the moderator to move the thread to the "trash".

Don't know if that's viable/understandable but I think it would save time all around. No one has to monitor the threads, the people can do it themselves.

Well the icons for closed threads are different than open threads, so you should see it flagged on the thread listing in each WTS/WTB forum.

Something needs to be done because it is very frustrating to spend hours looking at threads only to find it is already sold. Sellers don't even answer their PM's because they already sold account and are gone till they need to sell again.Whitetigers idea sounds real good

Sellers are able to close their own threads now. Have been able to for weeks :S
