no button to edit post

I made a post and would like to edit it now. There was an edit button showing before. I logged off the forum and logged on a bit shortly. And the edit button has disappeared somewhere. All i see is quote, quick reply, etc. Why can't i change my own post now?

We do this to as a layer to prevent scams and fraud. No worries, just post an update as a reply.

Uneditted posts remain a fingerprint into the future.

When an account comes through which seems like a scam, it may ring a bell if a user sees it again listed on the site. If we allowed full access edit features, scammers can modify their listings if they are found out, removing this fingerprint. Not only do we have a listing to reference, we can cross reference a number of other factors to determine whether the user is a scammer.

If we can remove this scammer from the site by detection, it's one less scammer you may run into while trading.

After posting in another thread, I too wanted to edit it. However, with this 10 post rule being enforced right now and many people posting pointless replies and topics, I'm kind of afraid to post again to correct my previous post. Is it possible to set certain forums to allow editing (ie. non-selling related) while not allowing editing in the trading forums??

Yes Please try to do anything for these beginners because they are posting pointless replies and i think darkrider 55 is right you should let us edit our threads in the non-trading related sections.

I agree with the 2 ppl above me. The first time i came to this site there wasn't a 10 post rule, and i sold an account with only making 2-posts. Now That I want to trade/sell the account i have now, i need to go and find several topics to post in before i can list it.

As for the no-edit option... Kendrah hit the nail on the head. Your post is our proof that you're trying to sell/trade/buy that account. Should a scammer post a scammed account, that is our proof that the scammer is advertising the account that is missing, and thats one more scammer identified. It sucks to not be able to edit, but unfortunately it truly is for the community's protection...
