I'm looking for some information about Guild Wars. In an attempt to branch my knowledge out from FFXI and WoW, what can you tell me about Guild Wars?

I'd like to know everything. Start with the developer's policies toward account safety, required information to regain control of an account, what an "amazing" or "complete" account would contain, and etc.

Basically, I'm just curious about how the game operates. Is it all PvP? How do you level up to level 20? What is the user interface like?

Figured I'd come to the EGS community to start my quest. Thanks in advance for any information you can provide to me!

Account security wise, your best checking the GW site, but I can provide you with some firsthand knowledge too.

Account Safety is considered very important, and as such, there are some rather insane rules on Accounts. Its strictly forbidden to sell/buy accounts from previous owners, which is why GW players use sites such as this, and why its a very good idea to keep a Account purchase on the DL when you are playing the game. Its a well known and accepted fact in the PvP community in the game that accounts are sold. Dont let the fact that its forbidden by the EULA scare you away unless you feel like scamming someone. To regain control of an account, all you need are the original CD Keys, and a email address. The Account is tied to a PlayNC account, and that is the email to which it will be reverted when you ask them to do so and provide the keys. As such, if the account is tied to a Play NC, make sure to get that information from the seller as well. A "complete" account doesn't exist in Guild Wars, but it would include max rank of every title, along with a full inventory of Crafting Materials and Platinum. However, players that have been playing almost every night since Beta still haven't hit the max ranks of PvP hero and champion, so take that with a grain of salt. Average rank is 9-10.

Its not all PvP, it contains a PvE storyline as well, although I would say that its 40-50 playhours at best (per campaign). You can either create a PvE character, and play through the storyline to get to 20, or you can create a PvP character and go straight to level 20, but only have the skills unlocked through pvp using a faction system. The user interface is completely customizable through the in-game options console.

yes, pvp is very competitive and rather hardcore

I don't think it is anymore. It's a lot more cheesy and gimmick based now.

Well. to start, each character can have two classes, the basic classes are warrior, monk, ranger, necromancer, mesmer, and elementalist, and the new classes which you have to have the expansions for are dervish, paragon, assassin, and ritualist. The world is pretty large, and there are many quest. There are sidequests and main storyline quests, and the story is usually very good. There is lots more, but that was just the basics.

If some1 didn't wrote, when u buy Factions there are 2 new classes, Ritualist and Assasin.. With Nightfall, you get Dervish and Paragon..

p.s. Easiest PvE Capmpaign is FACTIONS, you can get lvl 20 fastest there... If you would like to play PvE more then PvP, buy Prophesics, Nightfall or Eye of The North... Factions is more for PvP...
