Square Enix Bans

After having multiple accounts banned last month, I eagerly waited for this month's ban results expecting to see a boom in the number of accounts banned. But I was so wrong...
I'll let the pic explain the rest.



Once again not trying to start a panic, but ok PANIC!

Simple math:
3,600,000,000 / 10,840 = 332,103 per account
400,000,000 / 13,729 = 29,135 per account

Something is going on, and I don't think they're coincidences anymore. There's a possibly a program set to catch identical IP addresses, billing info, and credit cards.

I'm 99% sure there has to be something to track billing info or somthing.... Fuckin ghey. So much for traders like myself.

Guess i'm going to have to retire now... such a sad day.

I actually think the average FFXI trader is ok. The main reason so much gil is disappearing is because they're major sellers. No reports of any of my customers being banned yet.

I was banned on the 12th and had about 70mil lost because of it so I make up for near enough a quarter of that >.>

You were banned in January then? Can you PM me the details?

I doubt they are banning based on billing info. I have bought/sold/traded several accounts over the past few years and have never been hit with a ban. On top of that, I used to do buying/selling for a RMT site. I have literally logged on to well over 100 accounts to verify them, I have had my billing info on roughly 20 accounts, and I still play with same info just fine.

Also, if it is a credit card issue you can do what I did when SE said my card couldn't be used any more. I called my bank, said I lost my card, they mailed me a new one within 7 days, and I was good to go.

Your story doesn't contradict mine. I also had been using same billing info for 9 months and no accounts banned in that time. Last month every account was banned. And now there are multiple reports from EGS users with similar results. Now 3.6 billion removed last month. Something is going on.

It is pretty much identical, I used the same billing information for 5 years. The only difference I can see between the two of us would be the amount of gil passing through the accounts. The largest amount of gil I have ever held at once is 15M.

I don't keep more than 20-30m gil per account. If any account receives more than that amount I distribute it among the 5-6 accounts I have active during that month.

I had 1 account banned after changing membership info, payment info and password. Payment info was a different credit card but same billing info. No content IDs were active at the time.

One EGS user reported having 4 bought accounts banned all in 1 period including 1 account he stripped down, but did not change payment info, membership info or password on the account.
