Lol...do you camp any ground HNM? You wouldn't say something like that if you do. I can't speak for other servers, but I know for a fact on Fenrir that you'd be incredibly lucky to find any Kings pop yellow. I highly doubt this is only the case on Fenrir.

As for Scorpion Harness being 20-30m, please tell me the server(s) that has this because I'm switching there right now. In all seriousness, the highest SH on current economy is 180k on Odin and Asura. The only time it's ever been close to 20-30m is back in 05 with that huge inflation, and even then I don't recall it ever passing 7m. Never has passed that.

I use to make 30m SH+1 like candy back during inflation. It was fun times.

Also why even bother camping Kings without a bot account? Everyone knows those are bot targets, and if you don't have one, why even show up.

I don't, I'm simply proving a point. It's a battle of who has the best bot. It's the same with KA and NMs like that. Clearly SE's "really good protocol for bots" isn't good enough, considering every successful LS that actually claims Kings/any other NM with really nice drops and relatively small spawn radius has at least one and goes without the banhammer being laid out.

And if servers were to merge, it would be the most retarded clusterfuck of bots ever. I don't want it any worse than it already is

Think the only thing a server merge would do is create more of a problem for SE's overall than it would help repopulate certain servers. I've played other mmo's where they forced server migrations due to over population and most the people who got forced to move quit the game soon after. 99% of the reason I still play is to have fun with the friends I've made over the years.

They are gearing up the game for at least another few years with the last few updates. Additions of new types of weapons and gears, some will take months if not years for normal/casual players to get.

As for merging servers, definitely not a good idea, competition is already bad enough with servers the way they are. Bots would ruin it further than they already have, the only good merit spots would be impossible to find open, regular exp camps would be tough to come by, and the economy would go to shit. Not something I'd like to see.

That was really stupid. I think merging server would be a nice way to do it. Worst thing that can happen is that Jueno, Whitegate etc gets turned in to a ghost city with no players. Now that would make players leave game.

Im myself are not afraid on competition and its alot more fun claiming a HNM when the zone is packed.

People play this game because there are other players around. If you dont like that pls change to FF XII or some other non MMO.

If you want a easy game where its easy to get stuff try Wow and quit FF. Besides SE is working hard to get rid of all bots.

I agree with the above poster; competition is fun. A crowded server is fun (as long as there is no lag).
I remember when I first started playing FFXI, the servers were jammed. There were tons of people playing and enjoying the game, finding a party and linkshell was easy, and overall the game was fun at any level.

Back then the game experience was a lot more interesting and a lot different than what it is now. Mostly now, there are high levels that dominate the servers, and HNM/end-game linkshells..

FFXI has be dying down lots in the past few years. The Player vs Player element has anyway.
PvP is dead on all servers except for 2. Even with those 2 servers still active on the PvP side of things you must wait hours for the offical 60 and uncapped matches since the lesser caps are all no shows.

the new MMO, many will switch to, but what about all their hardwork & time put into FFXI, they probably will not quit FFXI, many will not spend money on a new one, this new MMO will not be related to Final Fantasy in anyway, so it will draw in players from other MMO's like WOW, WAR, LOR, etc. so why should FFXI be worried about it drawing out players? it happens everytime new MMO is created.

Everyone making it sound like they are making FFXI v2 online, which is not the case, it will have little more effect on FFXI than WoW etc... c'mon think straight now guys.

I really hope this game doesn't die. I really enjoy it a lot, and I have a lot of friends who still play it and want me to come back. I have this obsession with mithra too >_>; My one friend who i talk to on AIM is a mithra and she wants me to come back. I asked her if we'd be doing "mithra" stuff, and she just replied with an "el oh el sure"
