well i just started playing again myself. I have played wow for couple years also. Imo FFxi has a way easier way of doin things simply cause u dont' have 20 lines of quick slot buttons to press lol and you can easily make macros to combo in job abilitys/ and weapon skills. where as wow has a horrible macro set up.

Not impossible to get partys under 60, especially since the new Level Sync, and if you traded your WoW acct for a higher lvl char it may be a little difficult to get used to but just like with anything else it'll take some practice

If you have the urge to play it, go for it- After all it's just a video game. If you go in with the philosophy that you are going to put a significant portion of your life into a game and want your "investment" secure... well then your probably going in for the wrong reasons and are likely to get upset about trivial matters in the game itself. If you enjoy leveling up from lower levels the game will be around more than enough time for you to get your fill. If you like end-game, buy a cheap account and jump right into it. Do whatever will make you happy, but if you feel like you want to play the video game for years and years, I'd just go with something new that's coming out (like Warhammer)

It's never to late to join up on a MMO game unless well it shut down Lol. FFXI is definitely passed its prime now though and with the upcoming new MMO being developed by Square I think FFXI will slowly die off. If you have come this far not wanting to play... Just hold off another year and you can play a new Next-Gen MMO from Square.
