Paypal – “Mass Pay” [Avoid Charge Back; Fees]

Am convinced some members are aware of this, while the rest has faintest idea of this function. Everything written is an output of facts base on experience, please feel free to add on; share knowledge and provide me with pointers.

Paypal has a “Mass Pay” function which gives buyer zero protection against seller, it works like Western Union; it is just another payment option for those who are into trading.

Pros:
• Works like Western Union (if anyone has found a chargeback method on this, please add on to this thread)
• Zero Fees (Am pretty affirm of this advantage to both buyer and sellers)

Cons:
• Required Verified Status and Paypal Balance
• Non user-friendly as it requires a correct upload of text file. (As I am unable to host the text file format that is required to ensure a correct sent; if anyone requires the file, please drop me a PM and an e-mail address)

As spoken, this is just one of the many payment options available for quite a while to cater for specific needs (Speed, No Cost), and like all payment method, has its pros/cons/loopholes for both buyers and sellers.

Feel free to let me know if there is anything you would like to be added to, or any pointers that could be further modified or even PM me. And right if you are a seller and requesting "Mass Pay" from buyer, please feel free to show them the link, as some has little idea on this function.

A quick question on this: does the Mass Pay necessarily pull from Paypal balance, or you can redirect from either a CC or bank account?

I read into this mass pay method and it seems you can only do it if you have a Paypal Premier or Business account. Money transferred via this method is extracted from a verified bank account so it's 100% cash and not credit card. The payment source is changed but the type of goods being traded remains the same, so there is still a risk which is I think inherent in all "intangible" goods.

I guess there are no fullproof ways to protect the seller other than meeting up in person with a briefcase of cash. Of course meeting location would be an internet cafe or somewhere with WIFI so goods can be inspected before money changes hands. It's like dealing drugs.

Probably correct about Paypal Balance aspect.

However, under a masspay transaction, there is no room to allow for buyer for dispute, unlike the normal transaction i.e.: buyer will not be able to enter to resolution center to file a dispute. The function is disabled. If anyone has found a way, please share.

The logic seems more alike to : Since masspay denies a buyer of disputing, paypal would need to safeguard their interest by ensuring that there is 100% cash in Paypal balance.

I called paypal on this and they said a trade partner does have the option to open a claim or dispute on a transaction. The operator also said it's not one way like Western Union.

I've never used it, but I'm definately interested if it is suppose to work that way. With conflicting statements, I'm going to need to keep looking into it. I'll have to call another rep on another day and see what they say.

Are you sure about the lack of dispute Jaime? It has promise, I just want to find a positive answer on it.

It seems that paypal is inconsistent with the reply, because when i called paypal, they told me theres no way to recourse it at all unless i called the person and ask them to send the amont back to me. Still have another same reply from paypal in email form which i am keeping.

From my end, i have explored it throughly, bouncing through my 3 paypal accounts and find no means for a recourse. I did try chargeback among my own paypal accounts so i would know how to intiate chargeback for a start.

The best way for you to try it out would be to send 1USD via masspay to me, and you would try to dispute it, to ensure it from your end if its possible. Personally having your seconding would assist alot since your opinion has always been invaluable to me and oh, i would have a dollar additional (jk)

So with this i could get scam if i was to sell somthing they could just take the cash back? if thats the case whats the real safest way to do buisness?

Jaime and I will test this out when I return from vacation in early July. It has potential, and if Jaime is correct, the funds are irreversable. I'm hearing differently through Paypal, but if what Jaime says is true, it's a wonderful and welcome addition to receiving payment.

Currently the safest method to buy and sell is using Westerin Union, and using middleman service. Both are one way transactions, ensuring both parties receive what they are suppose to.
