Only old people call MMORPG accounts/characters TOONS because they know nothing about the games that they're trying to play or service for.

That's why a lot of the account buying/selling sites suck. They're run by amateur businessmen, older individuals that know nothing about the industry and just go in it for profit...with the money to back them up. (And this is not a get rick quick niche.. )

I remember shortly before having left XI many people were spreading the word "toon" and I was in a decent hnmls. I had really just figured it to mean an extra character they could goof around with. I also heard chary but that is very understandable. What're some of the weirdest abbreviations or acronyms you ever saw? I would sometimes make one or two up with friends that would spell something funny when used (without resorting to profanity, not that I am against that though sometimes). Basically inside jokes. I have been away for so long though that I can't remember some that I know existed and were a bit of a smile cracker.

I always called mine my character, but I've heard the term toon before. I've heard it from old school players too, not just noobs. Personally, it never mattered to me. After all, they're just animated pixels.
