nothing has captured my attention since stopping final fantasy a few years ago, before that nothing kept me for more than a few months.. now there's absolutely zero online games that grab my attention, they're just all so similar now.. someone should make something so different and unique.. i just dont know what! im sure they'll come up with something eventually..

Either my attention span is getting a lot worse, or games in general have goten less interesting and have a lot less longevity than they used to. I don't even bother getting excited about new PC games because odds are I'll put 10-20 hours into playing it and never play it again, so why waste the money?

Every now and then I'll play wow again for a month and quit again, because it still is boring as ever. TBC helped, but once you've done the lvl 70 thing, it's boring as well.

I never liked FFXI, the interface was clumsy as was the chat system (to facilitate the cross-platform and cross-language aspects). SWG was the only game I didn't get bored of before Sony ruined it. I just don't think there will be an MMO that will keep my attention for very long anymore. I want more than they can give

I find that MMO's aren't fun unless you have friends playing with you

I would LOVE Diablo based MMORPG I think that if they did a Diablo MMO, they would reach such a wide and large customer-base. I mean look how many people spent so many hours playing Diablo 2: LoD , think if they put it into MMO form and put WoW addiction levels, they would make an incredible amount of money. Plus get one of the best MMORPG's made award.

Not to mention every game is now trying to copy WoW. I think its the natural progression of things. Every new MMORPG copies the previously uber one but adds its own distinction until a new MMORPG breakthrough happens then the subsequent ones start copying that. Now we are just waiting for the breakthrough.

I've tried WoW, couldn't get into it in the slightest. I am one of those hopeless FFXI junkies. I can't get over it despite the many flaws and poor work to fix them on SE's end. Just something about the game that pulls me in continuously. It could be the fact that i've pretty much grown up with the FF series.

i like detail and realism
for example
playing FFXI, i love the character models and battles.
i like the feeling of being in a large scale battle, cooperative with 18+ other people in alliance..
it's fun as hell. especially fighting Wyrms and Dragons like Fafnir, Nidhogg, and Tiamat..

It's also thrilling because you have 30-40 people watching u , hoping you'll fail.

The best fight ive ever done ffxi, fighting Tiamat at 5:30 in the morning. with 8 people. 6 people out of the 8 were Dual boxing characters. that's just nuts. fight lasted like 6 hours. but we got the kill. (bad drops tho)

I also loved diablo 2, because of the detail and the gameplay.

the major problem with developers is that they think they know what we want, when they don't.

Cartoonish graphics are for kids. I want realism and blood dammit.
My #1 reason for hating wow. My toon looked like a fag.

Its true, games lately are getting boring... The main reason is because developers are trying to push the limits of their games with graphics, and because of this, they usually neglect a good story line that keeps the player involved. Everyone remember the days of the N64? The PSX? Also to some extent, Gamecube and PS2? (not going to mention older consoles, want to stay somewhat current.) I remember some of those games would take me weeks to complete fully. Legend of Dragoon. Final Fantasy 7, 9. I skipped 8, 10 wasnt so long. Banjo-Kazooie/Tooie. Ocarina of Time. Tale of Symphonia. Spyro. Legacy of Kain.

Sure, if we replayed them now, we could beat them fairly quickly... between 10-40 hours. Thats about a weeks worth at least (for me.) I remember when I first played some of these games, I could play them for weeks. But with games recently... They are easily completed on the first run within 10-30 hours....

I like the idea of diablo online but i believe we should keep Starcraft a real time strategy game. but thats just an opinion from somone who played SC until they couldn't stand it anymore, and then played some more of course this is not to say that it wouldn't work, I just wouldn't want to see SC turn out like that
