It has just recently come to my attention that the website and MMORPG service portal Gamer King (located at gamerking[.]com) is run by IGE.

As many of you are aware, IGE has a bad reputation for fraudulent business practices and services. Buyer beware, folks...

Looks like IGE made the site to keep business coming; attracting customers with a "masked" identity.

I believe Gamerking was started by Yantis, whom loosly cooperates with IGE. If my idustry history is right, he entered into a noncompetition deal with them a long time ago. They share the same pool of plat. Other top websites that sell gold and services have also partnered up and it's a tangled web of supply that has many faces.

In addition to this, it's better for business to operate as multiple entities. Not only for helping reputation protection, but because it multiplies the opportunities of one of your companies to be seen, and then having business brought to it.

What I've been noticing is a lot of unethical business being done by these sites lately. It makes me ask myself if they are seriously overlooking people with all the business they provide, or are they so desperate to make money that they will scam, lie, and cheat anyone to make a dollar.

I know most of these sites are China based, and while this is speculation of course, the way I see it is that desperate people do desperate things. If times are difficult there, perhaps they way they do business is sometimes, or often times reflected because of that. People have to eat, put food on the table, maybe they "must" do what they have to. Only speculation, but it's a completely unethical way to do business.

Or they just hired some really crappy customer service reps.

I bought from IGE before;

Here's the story.

I purchase an account that cost me $500 USD, OK. So it was claimed to have certain equipment, a certain job, and a certain race.

I bought the account that morning. Waited 2-3 hours, emailed them.
Nothing.
Waited till the next day,
Nothing.
So I went in the customer support chat and they said that they couldnt contact the previous owner of the account for the account information.
(Here's the question: If they are already selling these accounts, shouldnt they already have the account information?)
So they said I can either get: A refund, or another character.
I picked another character, that was claimed to have this 'sky' equipment in FFXI.
Well.. I got the email 6 hours AFTER choosing the character.
Log onto it all happy and yay yay.
Oh snaps! The account isnt Lv. 75
It's Lv. 5 with No equipment =D

So then I just filed a complaint and got my money back.

Had a horrible experience with them too. Try to buy gils from them i waited...and waited... Click the the Bizrate logo for excellent customer service. lol I found out many people have been dupe by them. So buyer beware with them.

Not messed, up, just buyer beware. It's hit and miss if you get your currency or not.
